The Safety Forum 2023 discusses operational safety in the field of aviation fuel systems and handling at the Kingdom's airports.

On Tuesday 30th May, The Arabian Petroleum Supply Company "APSCO" organized the Safety Forum 2023 on the operation of aircraft fuel systems and handling, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, and a number of specialists in the relevant public and private sectors, at Hilton in Riyadh.

 

The establishment of the forum comes in light of the rapid development that the Kingdom is witnessing at the level of safety, especially in the field of aviation fuel operating systems and handling, and based on the Saudi Vision 2030 and in line with the objectives of the national strategy for the aviation sector to raise and enhance the level of operational safety in the Kingdom’s airports, where the safety of transporting, storing and supplying aviation fuel comes among the priorities of the Authority.

 

The forum dealt with several axes, including GACAR 68 & 151 legislations and regulations, the aviation industry and the Joint Inspection Group (JIG) updates, as well as a visual presentation on APSCO's implementation of GACAR 68 & 151 quality and safety legislations and regulations, and a visual presentation of the Aviation Investigation Bureau regarding aviation accident statistics, in addition to a presentation on global statistics related to safety and quality in the aviation industry. His Excellency the President of the Civil Aviation Authority, in his speech during the ceremony held for this occasion, praised the organizers of the forum, which discusses the main issues and common challenges facing the Saudi aviation sector, in addition to keenness to work as one team to reach the objectives of the sector’s strategy, including maintaining zero accidents, deaths and emissions during our journey to reach the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

His Excellency Mr. Al-Duailej explained the Authority's keenness to support such initiatives and encourage their continuation and growth, in our belief that the growth of this industry and the achievement of our goals require joint action to face challenges, and focus on innovation in achieving the highest levels of safety and quality, indicating that holding such events is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and discuss common challenges in the field of ground services in general and aircraft refueling services in particular.

 

His Excellency looked forward to working together to advance the aviation sector and achieve the highest levels of safety, security, efficiency and environmental sustainability, praising the initiative of APSCO to organize such forums to raise the safety culture in line with Saudi Vision 2030, wishing success to all participants. In conclusion, His Excellency praised the initiative of APSCO for organizing such forums to raise the culture of safety in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, wishing success to all participants.

At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation received the shield of the forum for his support of such initiatives that contribute effectively to enhancing the level of safety in the aviation sector.
