APSCO is the host sponsor of the World’s Lubricant Producers Conference

Jeddah, October 18th, 2022: The Arabian Petroleum Supply Company (APSCO) participated as the host sponsor of the “Base Oils & Lubricants Conference 17”, held for the first time in Jeddah, for two days.

The conference discussed the latest developments in demand for lubricants and base oils, as well as the new technologies used in its production particularly related to the manufacture and production of cars and engines primarily linked to the future of sustainable transport and the global trend towards new technologies to reduce emissions.

Khalid Al-Tayeb, General Manager of Lubricants at APSCO and Vice-Chairman of the National Committee for Lubricants and Base Oil of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, who participated in this conference to be observe and follow up on the latest developments in the lubricant industry.

Mr. Khalid stated after the conference: “The Kingdom’s hosting of this global event is an evidence of the importance of Saudi Arabia at the global level on the one hand, and the importance of the Saudi market, production and consumption in the field of lubricants, on the other hand. In addition, APSCO, as the host sponsor of the conference, actively participated in all the discussions and main topics that were raised in the conference and raised many suggestions that keep pace with our ambitions as one of the largest lubricants producing companies in the Middle East.”

He added: "One of the most important topics raised at the conference is how to create opportunities for the development of the hybrid and electric car industry. In this regard, we will work with our committee partners to put the recommendations into practice."

Noting that the National Committee for Lubricants and Base Oil of the Federation of Saudi Chambers participated in this specialized and technical conference, which was held for the first time in Saudi Arabia, in addition to several companies, including Local, Gulf and International oil companies, lubricant oil manufacturers, exporters and importers, shipping companies and providers of logistical support.

After two days of discussion and deliberations on new researches to find standards to keep up with modern technologies, and with the aim of raising the level and quality of the Lubricant Oil Industry, and making technical breakthroughs about the future of the industry, as well as discussing difficulties, obstacles and finding appropriate solutions to keep pace with scientific progress; several recommendations were issued relating to the development and efficiency of products from lubricants manufacturers and producers
